Back-to-bacl attack on an NFT collectors

Key points: 

• NFT collector CryptoNovo publicly stated that he had been hacked. It seems someone also hijacked CryptoNovo's Discord channel in order to steal money from them.
• Some of the stolen NFTs included a Bored Ape, a CloneX, a CryptoPunk, and two Meebits. Additionally, the criminal stole three Mutant Apes and an additional two CloneXs.
• New wallet owners sold all ten NFTs within 16 hours of taking over the position. Doing so earned them 492.66 ETH, approximately $618,000 as of current prices. 
• Nikhil Gopalani, COO of RTFKT, an NFT project from Nike, reported his wallet being emptied as a result of the phishing scam.
• Gopalani lost 19 CloneX NFTs, 18 RTKFT Space Pods, 17 Loot Pods, 11 CryptoKicks and 19 RTFKT Animus Eggs. It's unclear how much the collection is worth; it could be worth up to $140,000 due to the current prices of other collections.

Over the past few days, notorious Web3 builders lost dozens of high-value NFTs to scammers after their crypto wallets were compromised.

Tuesday evening, NFT collector CryptoNovo publicly stated that he had been hacked.

Some of the stolen NFTs included a Bored Ape, a CloneX, a CryptoPunk, and two Meebits. Additionally, the criminal stole three Mutant Apes and an additional two CloneXs.

New wallet owners sold all ten NFTs within 16 hours of taking over the position. Doing so earned them 492.66 ETH, approximately $618,000 as of current prices. This money was then transferred to a wallet on a ChangeNOW exchange, according to on-chain sleuth ZachXBT.

It seems someone also hijacked CryptoNovo's Discord channel in order to steal money from them.

CryptoNovo explained that the Discord below is a fake account. As such, don’t send anything to anyone using his name or account number.

Another person targeted Nikhil Gopalani, COO of RTFKT, an NFT project from Nike. Gopalani reported his wallet being emptied as a result of the phishing scam.

Gopalani lost 19 CloneX NFTs, 18 RTKFT Space Pods, 17 Loot Pods, 11 CryptoKicks and 19 RTFKT Animus Eggs. It's unclear how much the collection is worth; it could be worth up to $140,000 due to the current prices of other collections. However, two wallets emptied Gopalani's collection of NFTs.
